Prepare for Impact

IMPACT magazine, published by the ASU Foundation, tells stories of how private support benefits Arizona State University students, research and programs and, in turn, makes an impact across the globe.

When IMPACT approached us earlier this year to create infographics for the feature story of their Fall/Winter issue, we were pretty excited to help. The challenge? They needed a full-page infographic and some supporting elements for the cover and inside spreads to make a not-so-interesting subject—supply chain management—a little more exciting.

We were provided with the text for the article, and it was our job to determine which elements to illustrate in order to best explain the process. We started with rough sketches of individual scenes, and a proposed sequence for clearly telling the story. Once approved, we moved into the creating the vector illustrations and supporting elements to tie them all together. Our illustrations were then handed off to their internal design team, who placed them into the spreads for publication.

We concluded the project with a follow up call, and it was clear that both parties were really pleased with the collaboration and end results.
